[DEMO] A scholarly visit to a specialised research centre

The mark of the Scientific Foundation for Financial Transactions on a dark field
From the delegation's meeting at the research centre.

As part of the Foundation's programme of engagement with research institutions, a delegation of researchers visited a centre specialising in economic studies and reviewed its ongoing work documenting newly arising financial instruments.

Topics of the meeting

The meeting covered a number of subjects falling within the interests of both bodies. They were surveyed without entering into their rulings:

  • Methods for describing banking transactions precisely before they are studied.
  • Instruments for field observation of current financial practice.
  • Standards for peer review in interdisciplinary work.

Points of agreement

  1. Exchange of scholarly publications between the two bodies.
  2. A joint workshop on the description of financial instruments.
  3. A standing channel of communication between the two research teams.
Precise description of a transaction precedes any examination of it, and is a scholarly task in its own right.

This is an introductory account of the activity. For further detail see the research and articles page.
